Artist's Comments

This was just an idea that popped into my head a couple of nights ago, I decided to give it a go. Basically, it's a stopwatch that takes the different values of the time it has recorded and turns it into a hex code, which colours the square or circle above the value. The large square displays an amalgamation of the three values (again, turned into a hex code). The 'Go!' button (re)starts the clock, the ';Pause' button pauses the clock, preserving the colours displayed, and the 'Reset' button sets all of the values to zero, and resets all of the colours to black. You may notice that the far right value isn't actually milliseconds; it in fact, is measuring tenths of seconds. Why? Because Flash doesn't seem to be able to process milliseconds properly, or any value below 100 milliseconds remains the same as if it were measuring 100 milliseconds. I'll see what I can do about this. Expect an updated version soon-ish. Maybe.

I don't understand what the premise behind this is supposed to be ... what's happening here?

The time 'value' (number of minutes, seconds, tenths of seconds) gets converted into a hex code (if you pause it at 24 seconds, the circle's colour has a hex value of #242424) and displayed in the box/circle above it. The large square at the top takes all of the values and turns them into one hex code (paused at 12 minutes, 53 seconds and 5 tenths of a second, the box has a colour corresponding to a hex code of #125305). Not really much of a premise, I just wanted to whip up a small Flash project, and thought this might be kinda neat to do.
